Apprentice Carpenter

Start work after the September long weekend. $22 – $30 an hour apprentice wages based on your level.

We’re looking to hire an Apprentice Carpenter to work at various project sites on rough carpentry tasks. We provide the tools, PPE and safety training, just bring your toolbelt ready to work.

Our ideal person has the following key characteristics, skills and experience:

Driven and excited about working in the construction industry.
Safety focused and cares about creating a safe job site.
Detail-oriented and constantly thinking about the best way to do the work that will result in a superior finished product.
At least two years of experience on commercial construction projects.
Able to read blueprints.
Some understanding of local building codes, safety requirements and procedures.
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required.

More about this job

The Apprentice Carpenter works closely with the Site Superintendent to build or repair structures and components on our project sites. Some of the typical tasks of the job include:

  • Read shop drawings, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
  • Build and install backings, roof parapets, safety railings, concrete forms.
  • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware.
