Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living is currently seeking an Assistant Access and Privacy Coordinator. This position works with The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) on a daily basis. Previous experience in this area would be desirable. Conditions of Employment:

  • Experience working with The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA)
  • Experience interpreting and applying regulations, policies and procedures 
  • Experience performing administrative/clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, typing documents, preparing reports, scanning, faxing and answering phones
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make decisions and problem solve
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and ensure accuracy of work
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat Pro)

Reporting to the Access and Privacy Coordinator (FIPPA Coordinator), the Assistant Access and Privacy Coordinator is responsible for assisting the FIPPA Coordinator in managing and coordinating responses to requests made to the Department of Health Seniors and Active Living under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).  Duties of this position include intaking  FIPPA requests, assisting applicants and potential applicants in determining requirements, needs for requests, refining requests in accordance with FIPPA Legislation, undertaking research and analysis on information to which access has been requested, coordinating collection of records relating to requests and preparing statistical reports.
