• Support the preparation of municipal planning studies; plan, design, and implement projects; • Complete project pre-planning processes, such as cost estimations/budgeting & construction schedules;
• Design horizontal and vertical alignment of roadways and industrial rail siding and loop track;
• Design and prepare drainage and storm water plans and other civil works;
• Prepare detailed engineering plans of roadways, industrial rail siding & loop track including embankment;
• Develop, monitor and update weekly Gantt charts for assigned projects;
• Provide weekly & monthly reports outlining action items;
• Maintenance of civil and municipal infrastructure and facilities;
• Work closely with in-house legal team to define scope of work for contracts; ensure contractor compliance;
• Recommend payment approval of invoices related to jobs that have been completed satisfactory and in accordance with the contract documents;
• Pro-actively review existing sites as directed by management to provide solutions to potential issues;
• Assist in the management of construction crews with the ordering of specific parts, hot work permits and other duties as assigned by the CEO or Divisional Manager. Qualifications: • Must be able to travel to sites regularly throughout Manitoba to Alberta (will have access to a corporate vehicle for site visits);
• Must have a University Degree or diploma in Municipal Engineering;
• Must have 5 Years’ experience with Civil 3D CAD Software Technology;
• Experience with surveying equipment, and Designing; • Experience supporting the planning, designing and implementation of various civil projects: roads, rail beds, aircraft hangers & parking lots as well as sewer, water, waste & drainage;
• 2-3 Years’ experience with roadway and rail development considered a strong asset;
• Background in agriculture construction considered a strong asset;
• Ability to handle multiple projects with minimum supervision is essential;
• Strong communication, organizational and technical skills;
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet monthly deadlines; self-directed & energetic personality. Benefits:
