The Tax Recovery Branch is within the Compliance and Enforcement Division of Manitoba Finance. On behalf of the Manitoba government, the Tax Recovery Branch administers taxation legislation through information, compliance, audit and enforcement programs.

Conditions of Employment:

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Experience performing administrative and clerical duties such as recording and distributing documents and data entry using spreadsheets
  • Experience providing customer service in person or over the phone
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work respectfully within a team environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret, explain and apply policies, legislations or regulations
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently

Desired:

  • Experience collecting delinquent or in-arrears accounts
  • Experience working with GenTax

Duties:
The Collections Clerk provides administrative support for the collections area. The position is also responsible for the collection of minimal dollar amounts ($250.00 to $1,000.00) and the delinquent filing of returns on outstanding sales tax and IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) accounts.
