What you’ll do:

You will continuously monitor Global and North American fertilizer markets for price variances and purchase opportunities to provide input toward procurement strategies and facilitate market share and/or margin increases. Track purchase opportunities and/or position risks based on forecasts with the Senior Manager, Fertilizer to inform business decisions that maximize return on investment.

You will monitor workflow of the Fertilizer Team in order to execute streamlining activities with the intention of reducing redundancies and maximizing team efficiencies.
You will lead process improvement activities include leading the implementation of system automation (EDI) by working through the cradle to grave order process for direct and terminal shipments, documenting and supporting team members through all aspects of the order entry process and support the Senior Manager, Fertilizer with stock purchases.
You will generate and distribute key indicator reports including the Daily Fertilizer Position Report and monitor, report and communicate appropriate actions to replenish inventory to meet sales commitments to local Co-ops.
You will develop and update fertilizer reporting models to identify buying opportunities on an ongoing basis for the FCL Procurement Team and local Co-ops, based on analysis of global, North American and Western Canadian fertilizer prices and logistics costs.
You will be responsible for managing the Fertilizer Specialists in implementing protocols and standard operating procedures for the Fertilizer team. Provide leadership and direction regarding products, initiatives and processes/procedures.

Who you are:

You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or Commerce.
You have a minimum of 6 – 9 years of relevant experience. Fertilizer industry experience is considered an asset.
