Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Current and Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search
- Must be bondable
- Current and Satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5F driver’s license
- Experience working in a commercial cooking environment
- Experience preparing and serving well-balanced meals for large groups of people
- Experience with table service
- Experience with sanitation and cleaning requirements in the food service industry
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain working relationships with staff and the general public
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Food Handler Certificate
Under general supervision of the Food Services Supervisor, the Food Services Worker performs a variety of tasks involved in providing the meal program within housing facilities managed by Manitoba Housing. Some of the duties include preparing and serving meals, cleaning eating area, utensils and equipment, driving and delivering meals and catering items, ordering and re-stocking supplies and maintaining basic records related to the operation of the meal programs. Although independence of action is exercised in the performance of the duties assigned, a high level of cooperation is required in working with the building’s Tenant Association, meal program committee and program volunteers.
