Hatchery Worker

As a Hatchery Worker you will be working with team members in egg handling, hatch preparation, hatches and general clean up. This position will also serve as a back up driver when needed which will require a valid class 1 drivers license. Our trucks are standard transmission. Applicants must be able to operate standard transmission vehicles! Usual start time 6:00am Monday – Friday. This position is based out of 750 Pandora Ave E, Winnipeg, MB R2C 4G5.

Qualifications:

Ability to operate standard transmission vehicles
Class 1 drivers license
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions
Work well in a small team environment
Good verbal and written communication skills
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to perform transfer duties and back up driver when needed
Previous experience in delivery driving, hauling live animals an asset
Ability to rotate to other jobs as required
Comfortable working with live animals
A safe work habit
A good attendance record
Physical ability to perform duties; including but not limited to bending, lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs., etc.
Working Conditions:

Standing for long periods of time
Humid, damp environment
Moderate temperatures (86 F., 30 C.)
Must wear respirators, goggles, face masks in designated areas
Must wear hearing protection in all areas
Dirty environment: chick fluff, shells, feces, contaminated eggs, blood, odor & yolks
Personal protection equipment required: hearing protection, steel-toed boots, smocks and masks
