Education: Completion of secondary school
Experience: A head baker must be trained in all aspects of pastry arts which include scratch baking, detailed decorating capability and the management of people and product.
Cuisine Specialties: Canadian
Specific Skills: Successful candidates must be highly organized and detail oriented. Must be able to work well under pressure and be able to multi-task. Head bakers must know how to use all bakery equipment and must lead by example in all areas of baking and preparation. Product must be consistent and of high quality. They must train and supervise workers, create schedules, and assign daily baking tasks. They must also ensure cleanliness and follow health and safety regulations.
