Seeking Heavy Duty Mechanic

Chabot Enterprises Ltd. is a Winnipeg Heavy Construction company specializing in sand and gravel supply and delivery; roadway construction and earthworks projects. We are looking for the right person to join our team and take on this key role.

As part of the CHABOT team, the Heavy Mechanic is part of the team responsible for the day-to-day operations of the equipment and fleet maintenance program. The goal is to make sure that equipment and fleet are running smoothly and efficiently, with adequate service and repair to minimize costly down-time. The person in this role is responsible for repair work in shop and some field calls for heavy construction equipment and trucking fleet.

Responsibilities & Duties
This role is multi-faceted; encompassing rock crushing equipment and heavy construction equipment:
• Heavy equipment and fleet repairs, service and maintenance:
• analyzing and identifying defects
• completing major and minor repairs to heavy equipment and fleet
• testing equipment for repair effectiveness and general fitness
• completing maintenance and service of heavy equipment and fleet according to manufacturers recommended schedule or as necessary
• welding experience an asset

• 5+ Years of experience repairing heavy construction equipment and heavy trucks
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair
• professional and personable
• attention to detail
• ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
• organized and efficient and able to work with minimal Supervision
• ability to communicate clearly verbally and written
• be willing to take on challenges and responsibilities with a pro-active, positive attitude

This position is offered as a full-time (50+ hrs/week), permanent position, year-round, Monday to Friday day-shifts; some Saturdays may be required in peak season. Suitable applicant must have reliable transportation to and from work as public transportation is not available.
