Recycling (Production) Operator

We have partnered with one of Manitoba’s leading firms in waste reduction to recruit a full-time – Recycling System Operator.

Purpose of Position: To repair/ maintain all aspects of the operations system. To ensure optimal system performance. Reporting to Shift Supervisor, with regard to all aspects of facility operations/maintenance.

Starting Wage: $16.50 – $18.00 per hour, Wage increase + Benefits upon hiring.

Hours:

Monday to Friday, some weekends, some OT

5:00am-3:00pm

or

6:00am-3:00pm

Reports to: Shift Supervisor

Main Duties:

1. Daily inspection of all system during system warm up to ensure safe and efficient start-up.

Review and document the result of system checks all suggestions to be given to Supervisor.

Ensure shafts, conveyors, screens S4 & S8 , drum feeder, glass trommel, Film Grabber, ballistic, magnets are also cleaned before system start-up

1. Ensure that work areas are kept clean and organized DAILY.

2. Perform Daily, Weekly, Monthly PM checklists. Hand in to Maintenance Lead

3. Trouble shoots the system to prevent jam ups.

Be sure to include comments in deficiency reports about any observations to potential maintenance issues.

1. Maintain a steady flow of material on the line via screen angles, disk and conveyor speeds. Ensure that there is always a good balance of fiber and containers on the line.

Ensure all aspects of system are operating properly during production (ie film hood, bag breaker and metering drum)

1. Daily cleaning of accumulation around all screens

2. Ensure that workshop and work areas are kept clean and organized at ALL TIMES.

3. Clean up outside around scrap metal bins and compactor while system is running.

4. Accurately document system downtime and necessary repairs that must be made on system that are observed during operations on forms provided. Forms are to be submitted to supervisor.

5. Other duties may be assigned with operational changes.

Must be in communication with other operators to assist in operational changes to ensure the efficient operation of the system.
