The successful applicant will be responsible for providing services to schools within each division. The Assistant Superintendents of Student Services within each school division will be responsible for supervising the successful applicant. Preferred Qualifications & Experience: Qualifications: – A Psychology degree at the Masters level
– A valid school clinician’s certificate in psychology issued by Manitoba Education
– Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment – The ability to communicate in the French language within Western School Division is an asset. Specific responsibilities will include: – Assessment and evaluation of students with intellectual, social, and emotional needs
– Reporting to professional staff and parents on assessments
– Providing follow-up support on programming recommendations
– Working collaboratively with other members of the Clinical Services Team as well as the school team involved with students displaying intellectual, social, and emotional needs
– Providing threat assessments if the need arises
– Being a part of the Crisis Response Team if the need arises
– Providing staff development on appropriate topics related to this field
Liaise with outside agencies to provide services to students and families as appropriate As this position requires travel on the part of the clinician, the successful applicant will need a vehicle to carry out the duties of this assignment. Garden Valley School Division is a dynamic, innovative and visionary school division located in the heartland of industrialized south-central Manitoba.
