Conditions of Employment:

  • Must have valid full class 5 (5F) Manitoba Driver’s license

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Experience developing physical security concepts including the ability to conduct security assessments, surveys and analysis on facilities to identify vulnerabilities
  • Experience working with physical access control, intrusion detection and video monitoring systems
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of security systems projects including providing effective integration with building systems
  • Knowledge of building and fire codes and how they relate to physical security
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with other stakeholders such as other government agencies/departments, internal and external organizations and the public
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work assignments and work under pressure to meet workload demands and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, project Management software and AutoCad or equivalent software

Desired:

  • Diploma or Board Certification in the Physical Security Field, Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP)
  • Certificate in Project Management a combination of training and experience may be considered
  • Experience researching, developing, implementing, and reviewing new and innovative technologies in response to changes in business and organizational priorities

Duties:

Reporting to the Director, Security and Technology Advancement, the incumbent will have extensive contact and communications with client departments, central government agencies, internal and external organizations to ensure projects comply with the changing programs, policies and new initiatives with the context of security strategic planning as well as justice related technology innovation projects. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting project planning co-ordinating design, installation and commissioning of state-of-the-art electronic security and closed circuit television (CCTV) systems.
