‘Severe’ crash involving pedestrian sends one person to hospital: Winnipeg police

One woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition on Wednesday night following a crash involving a pedestrian.

According to the Winnipeg Police Service, the “severe” crash took place at Main Street and Inkster Boulevard.

Police did not have an update on the woman’s condition on Thursday morning.

Northbound lanes on Main Street near the intersection were closed on Wednesday. As of 6:15 a.m. on Thursday, emergency vehicles remained in the northbound curb and second lanes. Drivers should keep to the far left to pass.

Police hope to have all the roads reopened later on Thursday morning.

Officers note the cold weather has slowed down their investigation, as their equipment doesn’t function as well in the frigid temperatures.
